Aloha!
I grew up on the island of Oahu where I spent my childhood (the radical 80’s/90’s) at the beach, surfing, skateboarding, hiking, jumping off of waterfalls, and exploring. My dad never left the house without a camera and joked that he spent all of his money on film and gas. From a very young age, my brother and I learned the importance of photography.
After receiving my Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Hawaii, at Manoa, in 2012, and giving birth to my first daughter shortly after, I decided that I needed a career that involved working with people while sharing aloha. Originally, I was planning on becoming a college professor but having a child changed that for me. I just wanted to be with my baby as much as possible. So, with an undying love for Hawaii and a passion for photography, Stephanie Hughes Photography, LLC was created.
I began my photography career in 2013, photographing weddings and now offer a variety of additional photography services. I love experimenting with different lighting techniques, long exposure and time lapse. I have worked alongside and attended workshops with some of the world’s greatest photographers. I believe that photography should be accessible to everyone. I have done photos for Hospice Hawaii and the Make a Wish Foundation.
I am now a homeschooling Mom of three amazing kids. I absolutely love food, cooking and baking. Everything and anything health/fitness related. I’m obsessed with music (my brain is a library of thousands and thousands of lyrics). I read a lot of books. I have a garden and love plants. I am not a fan of social media and am not on any form of it. I never sit still. I’ve practiced yoga for over 20 years. I am told often that my photography sessions are an awesome experience and many clients return to Hawaii, and book again with me.
